The way I consume music is normally early in the morning before I go into school or whenever I have free time I tend to plug my iPod into my television so I can sing along and take a break from situations going on around me. Music in the morning helps to make me wake up better and then when I am bored it fills my time and makes me happy because I can sing to all new songs from the charts that I enjoy from the radio.
I always listen to my music in my room usually on my own because I can put on any song I like without anyone having a say and I can sing to myself without anyone listening in. Having said this, the absolute best way for me to listen to music would be at a party because I can dance and enjoy it with a large group of friends who all share the same taste and interest in music. It creates a great atmosphere and an upbeat mood getting me ready to go out.
I feel there are so many pleasures to music consumption nowadays. There is a saying that goes something like ‘Music is the only thing that never leaves you’, which for me is true. You find so many people and things leave you in life at different points but you’ll always have music. You can turn on the radio and whatever time of the day, week, month or year music will be played for its listeners. Along with an iPod; fill it with tunes and you can take it anywhere and play anytime.
People like it because it can create a mood or feeling for them. It can cheer you up when you’re feeling down or help you release unwanted anger or stress. It may even simply be a distraction from things going on, an escapism where you can shut off from everything and just listen, for companionship or just to help you sleep. Whatever the reason, I always enjoy music.
To sum up my feelings towards music I think that without it, society would be a pretty boring place. Music is everywhere we go, all the time, whenever we want it it is there and the great thing about it is the endless variety of genre it contains to suit everyone’s tastes.
