When I was asked to produce some tracks that I would like to create a music video out of, I found it difficult to find songs without videos currently and music that I also liked myself. I came across the following tracks when I was searching the internet some key reasons why I like each piece.
The reason I liked this song is because it’s upbeat therefore more of a club mix style of music which could make the video fast, fun and full of life. I can imagine scenes at night as this goes alongside the title with dancing going on, lots of lighting and changing images. This would really work as a concept or performance piece that would be enjoyable to make creative and imaginative.
I liked this song because yes it is more of a club mix again but it is a remake of an old song that I really like. It has a catchy beat and you can see that the main theme/prop will be based around the idea of the radio. So things like music, news, city, and busy times can all be imagined in my head.
This song is something different and moving away from the club style of music and more into the pop/classic tones. I can imagine this being either a narrative or concept style but it does have elements of performance whereby a singer could hit the high notes and go into the chorus. Images I get are walking along streets, in the rain, umbrellas things that link to the song title.
This Taylor Swift song is a different style again it has elements of pop but also country/folk. It’s a much slower song to others I have picked therefore better for the performers to get a chance to sing making it a good performance piece and a narrative. It takes the more common love story theme but it can have a twist and be linked to a different sort of storyline altogether.
Another Taylor Swift song that is much different to the last one. It is faster but still has the element to be sung. I look at this song as having the potential to be all three types of music video; concept, narrative or performance. Looking at this song I can picture the typical city scene, good atmosphere, life, money, shopping, fast cars with a positive attitude that would be good to film the action shots for.
